We have added a new, optional service to the TransERP system – automatic sobriety test for driving personnel.
It is the first such solution on the municipal transport companies market. It provides the dispatchers with fast and automated verification of alcohol content in the exhaled air.
Sobriety test allows the dispatchers to objectively decide whether the driver is able to perform his duties and if it is possible to issue them transportation documents. New solution is designed in a way that allows dispatchers to service numerous drivers in a quick and organised fashion.
Every driver is tested upon logging into the TransERP system in the dispatcher’s area. The employee blows into a contactless mouthpiece and receives a result within 3 seconds (green light – sober, red light – not sober) and instantly transfers data to the dispatcher module. The device also checks if the test was conducted properly – yellow light means that the test should be conducted once again. Red light means that the was not passed and in such case (after another try) driver should be tested with a legalised alcohol level measuring device. Should the driver pass its test, the dispatcher may manually correct the data in TransERP system and issue the transportation documents.
The issue of drivers’ sobriety arouse after latest incidents of drunk drivers in municipal transportation and fatal accidents that they had caused. Numerous queries from municipal transportation companies initiated an upgrade to our TransERP system that encompasses the sobriety test. We hope that it will increase safety of passengers and make the dispatcher’s job more efficient.
