The ending of a settlement period for the third, and last, group of drivers in MPK Wrocław (municipal transport company) was also the ending of an implementation of novel settlement method that uses settlement periods that are three months long.
The behind such a settlement method was born in MPK Wrocław over last months of 2012. It is still under consideration of municipal transportation companies in few Polish cities. After numerous consultation meetings over the first quarter of 2013 DPK System prepared a draft of necessary software modifications. The complete solution was ready in mid-2013.
Implementation began on 1st of August 2013. Drivers were divided into three groups, each of those was settled in three month long periods with one month shift between each of groups’ beginning. Such a method needed reconstructing of our settlement system and vast modifications in our planning module (Optigraf), as well as in algorithms in the optimisation module.
Real life effects exceeded the forecasted cost cuts in MPK Wrocław. Thanks to the new system they saw an appreciable drop in the overtime servicing costs. What is more important, the changes are appreciated both by the Board as well as the Trade Unions. Such an effect signifies that the changes were well prepared and communicated. The effort during this implementation will surely be beneficial for both parties. The implementation in Wrocław attracts other cities to similar solutions.
